Danish-American Law Firm Established in 2012
USA Denmark Law was founded in 2012 as a Danish-American law firm focusing on legal services for Danish businesses in the United States. Initially started under the name Thomas Martin Law by Martin Dahlgaard in New York and Thomas Thorup in Denmark, the firm expanded to offer a wide range of new services such as legal compliance, visa and immigration, tax preparation, and U.S. payroll management.
In 2021, the firm was rebranded as USA DENMARK LAW when Thomas Thorup ended his partnership with Martin Dahlgaard. With continued growth, the firm has expanded its team and established offices in Nordhavn, Copenhagen; Midtown, New York City; and most recently in Washington, D.C., in 2024. Today, the firm is recognized as a leading Danish-American law firm with a broad client base across various industries.
Once upon a time
Martin Dahlgaard started a Danish-American law practice in New York with just one client. That client has remained a client of the company for the entire time and is still a client today.
Martin Dahlgaard in New York and Thomas Thorup in Denmark consolidated their law practices and established the law firm Thomas Martin Law in both New York and in Denmark.
Thomas Martin Law expanded the business into various legal compliance services for Danish clients with businesses in the United States.
Expansion of the company into US visa and immigration with new hiring.
Expansion of the business to tax preparation services, as many clients needed assistance on this.
Introducing practice on US payroll for locally hired US employees for Danish businesses.
Established the company as the leading Danish-American law firm with clients within many different industries across Denmark.
Thomas Thorup afsluttede sit partnerskab med Martin Dahlgaard.
Martin Dahlgaard rebrandede virksomheden til USA DENMARK LAW.
USA Denmark Law expanded with the hiring of several new attorneys and employees.
